Crabbing and Clamming Clinics
Never been crabbing or clamming? Now is your opportunity to indulge in this wonderful pastime at the Siletz Bay, Lincoln City. These are free clinics, courtesy of The Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau. The crabbing clinic is on June 22 and clamming on June 29. Both fun-filled events start with a preamble and an overview by a local expert then off you go. You’ll need to have a shellfish license before then which you can buy locally Monday to Friday. You’ll also need a shovel or bucket. If it’s crabbing you’re going for you’ll have to have up to 3 crab traps and a crab gauge. Oh yes – bring your own bait – chicken thighs or legs would be fine. It might be a good idea to check with the Visitor Bureau in case there’s anything else you need to know.
