This romantic ballet was first performed in Paris in 1841 and is accepted to be one of the great romantic ballets of all times. This is one of the Paris Opera Ballet’s major creations in its history and a great cultural event in Lincoln City.
The role of Giselle is one of the most demanding in ballet for which the ballerina must possess technique veering on perfection, exceptional grace and incredible drama skills. Understandably this is one of the most coveted roles in ballet.
The ballet projects the intertwined of themes between forces of nature, forest spirits and death. During the famed second act everyone wears white for which it is known as the ‘white act’.
